How does digital manipulation affect authenticity?

In trying to create images that work best in terms of the intention of the current project, I have been working to make portraits of people that are blurry. They should be recognisable as people and recognisable in terms of the sort of clothes they might be wearing or things they might be carrying, but their faces should not be in focus.

Week 3 introduced us to how photography is changing in the digital world. It prompted us to consider new possibilities in terms of how work is created and viewed/experienced, how this changes the relationship between the artist, the work, and the audience, and how the world of social media has altered how artists get their work out there and how branding and advertising are done.
